We are so lucky...Richard returned yesterday from his two week Military assignment in Germany. Safe and sound and without a German accent! Too many of us,just knowing he was out of the country was a concern. Stephanie did very well balancing being a temporary single mom and working. She only asked her Dad and I to sleepover two times. We assured her she would be just fine staying alone with her kids at night.(She did spend one night at Heather's, mostly because it was convenient, not having to wake the kids up just to take them a few blocks home)
It appeared that Dani was more aware that her Dad was gone then the other kids. Being she is older I think she understood that he was far away and wouldn't be home for dinner. There were days when we would ask Dani why she was so sad and she simply said "I miss my Daddy." Steph made a countdown sheet and it helped to tear off a day knowing that when there were no more pages Daddy would be home.
Those of you who view Heather and Cody's blog know of their announcement. We are so excited and looking forward to another sweet spirit joining our family.
Taylor and Matt are looking forward to being off track. They will not return to school until the new year. But they will still be working hard on spelling, math and reading. Heather is such a big help with their homework it's amazing what she has accomplished, even with the unwillingness to do homework. Jaymi's job is about to have some changes, alot due to the economy and companies cutting back. We know that she will be facing some challenges but she also know she has a strong supportive family there to help.
